Are Pro Drummer's rich?

Carter's style is very unique and radical. Do you think that anyone else could play like that in a "pop band" (I know DMB is much more than just this) and not get kicked out?! Similar to Stewart Copeland if you think about it! Very identifiable voice on the drums... and BUSY! [img]smile.gif[/img]

Oh yeah, the hi hat work has Stewart all over it!

Carter used to tbe the house drummer for BET Jazz Central... he played with Maceo Parker, Michel Camilo, Roy Hargrove... others whose names escape me. I would like to see some tapes of that [img]wink.gif[/img]

I used to 'date' a girl who was from Charlottesville, Virginia... she was a singer in a band (great country singer she was, actually, not to mention being totally hot... oh well...) but anyways, so her band played at this spot on Tuesdays, and Carter's fusion band "Secrets" would play there on Wednesdays. She said he burned so hard with that band (and she actually had good taste in music and knew what a good drummer was... her fav was Sterling Campbell). I would have killed to see him play in a fusion band... it would be really fun to see him do a gig like that, a chops gig. I wonder if there is any stuff of him with that band, hmm...
Actually, i was posting about Carter but now i am kicking myself for breaking up with that hot girl who actually had a favorite drummer... damn [img]confused.gif[/img]

Yeah, you'd think that most of this pre-DMB Carter stuff would have all surfaced by now! Maybe it has, I never thought to look, thanks for the info. The search is on!

In order to play drums for a living I think you must require an ample amount of wealth!

From what I hear, Steve Gadd is on a $4,000,000 retainer from Paul Simon every year..... even if he doesn't have to play that year at all.
